First Responders

Public Access Defibrillator (PAD)

There is a PAD in Bettisfield which is fully maintained and checked.  When people call 999 they will be told the location of the PAD and the access code to the box.

The role of First Responders is to ‘turn out’ to medical emergencies to deliver life supporting measures to any patient suffering sudden illness or injury to include, basic life support, defibrillation and administering oxygen.

There are currently (April 2022) no First responders in Bettisfield.  Ambulance attendance times can be protracted as our village is at the periphery of their boundary, with many of the routes to Bettisfield being minor and winding roads – see map.

If you live in or close to Bettisfield and would like to serve your community by becoming a First Responder then contact Wales ambulance Service via phone or Facebook.

Welsh Ambulance cover the costs of equipment provision but the team have already identified additional medical equipment that would further improve the service we could provide therefore fundraising/sponsorship will also be sought from the village to help to maintain and improve this valuable provision; any ideas welcomed.
