Friday November 17th. Chapel Quiz Night in the Village Hall
Starts at 7.40pm, usual format light supper served in the interval. Come along and see if you can beat the Quizmaster.
Methodist Chapel Coffee Morning, Saturday 4th November
In the Cadney Lane Chapel from 10 – 12. Cakestall, Bric a brac, books and raffle. Come along for a cuppa and a natter and catch up on what is happening in your village.
Harvest Festival and Lunch – Sunday 29th October
Bettisfield XChurch is holding its annual Harvest Thanklsgiving at 11am . The service will be led by Rev. Canon Sue Huyto of Bangor on Dee. This year all donations of food and produce will be donated to The Whitchurch Food Bank.
Our Village Harvest Lunch is from 12.30pm in the Villahe Hall. You can enjoy a 2 course meal of chicken hot pot with crusty bread followed by seasonal puddings. Cider and soft drinks will be served with the meal, tea and coffee will follow Come along, pay on the door – Adults £8.00, Children £5.00. Donations of produce will be greatly appreciated and wll be donated to the Whitchurch Food Bank.
Maelor South Community Council Meeting – Tuesday October 3rd @7.30pm
This is the first of our winter series of meetings which are held inThe Rainbow Centre in Penley. If you wish to raise any community concerns there is an Open Forum at the start of the meeting but please try to keep your speech to less than 5 minutes.
Coffee Morning in Whitchurch Civiv Centre- Friday 22nd September
Bettisfield Church will be hosting a Coffee Morning on Friday September 22nd in Whitchurch Civic Centre from 10.00 – 12.00. Stalls will include a raffle, cakes, tombola and bric-a-brac. If you would like to help or are ab le to donate items please contact Sue (710145) or Mary (710328). If you are in town do drop in for a cuppa.
Buried in the Borderlands – Get involved!
Buried in the Borderlands’ is a new project from Wrexham Museum which focuses upon the recently discovered Bronington Hoard. The hoard consists of coins and a gold finger ring dating from the War of the Roses.
We are seeking people local to the Maelor area who have an interest in history to work alongside staff and other volunteers to create a display surrounding the hoard.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to view the hoard, learn about everyday life during the 15th century (including costume) as well as other opportunities.
